Future For Women is an initiative by a group of alumni from the United States Department of State with the goal of promoting gender equality through empowering women economically, through training, consultancy, community building, and providing resources for businesses and individuals. The program lasts for 8 months and is completely free for women aged 18 and above, living and working in Vietnam. The program has been implemented continuously for 2 years by ForGood Vietnam, with the sponsorship of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and Echidna Giving. 

The launching event of Future For Women Season 2 took place on June 24, 2022.

The target participants for the program are female business owners in Vietnam with less than 42 months of experience or women with unique and innovative business ideas planning to start a venture in Vietnam. At the end of the program, participants will enhance their knowledge and skills in leadership and business, develop social and emotional skills, overcome gender biases, expand their social networks, and access information on support for women entrepreneurship.

The Future For Women program consists of three main components: Training, Consultancy, and Business Plan Implementation and Reporting. 

During the training phase, Future For Women focuses on developing business skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and business development through on-site or online workshops. This phase will span over 6 months, with two workshops conducted each month. The training content is tailored to the specific needs and perspectives of women entrepreneurs. The program will share materials, facilitate group activities, and host group discussions on the closed Facebook Group platform. Additionally, there will be extracurricular activities such as business visits and community service within the Women’s Entrepreneurship Community WECV, a network dedicated to former and current members of Future For Women.

Mentees attended Online training session “Sales Management”  via the Zoom platform on September 10, 2022.

Mentees participated in the “Business Planning” workshop on August 20, 2022.

Parallel to the training process, the participants will have the opportunity to meet the mentors to gain additional insights, receive additional information, suggestions, and guidance on writing business plans, developing marketing strategies, establishing management systems, and even seeking investment sources, etc.

The participants meet with advisors to finalize their business plans.

After the advisory process, mentees will refine their business plans according to the business situation of their enterprises and report the implementation results to entrepreneurs and industry experts 

Mentee presented their action plans to the experts during the final report session on February 12, 2023.

Regarding the registration process for Future For Women, the organizers will review the applications based on a form, including the following documents: 

• A business introduction or entrepreneurial idea of maximum 250 words.
• A letter of intent of maximum 250 words, specifying expectations upon participating in the program.
